The maintenance and care of a pure water system revolves around four core aspects: filter replacement, system cleaning, troubleshooting, and daily monitoring, to ensure stable water quality and long-term equipment operation.
Regular Replacement of Consumables
Filter cartridges are the first line of defense for water quality and need to be replaced periodically:
PP cotton filter cartridge: Replace every 3–6 months to remove large particles such as sediment and rust.
Activated carbon filter cartridge: Replace every 6–12 months to adsorb residual chlorine, organic matter, and odors, and prevent RO membrane oxidation.
RO reverse osmosis membrane: Replace every 1–2 years, depending on the influent water quality and water consumption, to ensure a desalination rate of over 95%.
UV lamp and terminal filter: It is recommended to replace the UV lamp annually, and the 0.22μm terminal filter every 6 months to ensure sterile output water.
System Cleaning and Disinfection
Preventing biofilm and scale buildup is crucial:
Chemical Cleaning: Circulate and clean the RO membrane every 6 months using a specialized cleaning agent (such as Risr-RO387) to remove organic matter and inorganic salt scale.
System Disinfection: Perform system-wide disinfection every 2–4 months to inhibit bacterial growth, especially suitable for laboratory ultrapure water systems.
Tank Treatment: If using a traditional hard-shell tank, clean and disinfect every 3 months; maintenance-free bag-type tanks are recommended to reduce the risk of contamination.
