An RO EDI Water Treatment System is an advanced, multi-stage purification setup that combines Reverse Osmosis (RO) with Electrodeionization (EDI) to produce high-purity or ultrapure water. How the Integrated System Works

 

The system follows a specific sequence where the RO stage handles the bulk filtration and the EDI stage provides the final "polishing":

  1. Pre-Treatment: Water passes through multimedia and carbon filters to remove sediment and chlorine, protecting the RO membranes from physical and chemical damage.

  3. Electrodeionization (EDI) Module: The "permeate" from the RO stage enters the EDI unit. Inside, an electric field continuously migrates ions through selective membranes and ion-exchange resins.
  4. Self-Regeneration: Because the electric field splits water molecules into $H^+$ and $OH^-$ ions, the resin is constantly "recharged" electrically, eliminating the need for acid or caustic soda washes.
